Using campaign parameters to attribute traffic

If you distribute your content to various channels including your website and apps but also affiliate and partner websites, you can now apply custom campaign parameters to all the links in the publication from Publitas, so you can distinguish traffic to your website between different sources. 

How to apply custom parameters

To apply custom parameters to a publication:

  1. Navigate to publication settings and choose Campaign parameters tab.
  2. Proceed to add key and value pairs to all of the listed channels. 
  3. Once all the key and value pairs have been added, click Save & Update publication.

Notes

  • Affiliate channels section will contain all currently active affiliate channels for the publication group. You can read more about enabling affiliate channels in Increase reach through affiliate channels
  • Key and value pairs will be added as key=value URL parameters to all the links (product hotspots, dynamic and generated product hotspots, links) in the publication. 
  • Each key and value pair will be added only in case publication is being viewed through that specific channel. 
  • Default parameters are applied when a publication is being viewed through Publitas Reader, whether standalone or embedded in a website or a mobile app. 
  • Key and value pairs for each affiliate channel are applied only when specific affiliate is obtaining the data over official Publitas API. 
  • Appending these key and value pairs as URL parameters does not affect any existing URL parameters for the links present in the publication or obtained through the product feed.
