Leverage snapping tools, margins, spacers and other alignment and positioning tools in the Editor while creating a design to get to a consistent and professional look quicker and more easily!
Remember you already have access to 'snapping' to align hotspots. Find out more here.
With the snapping grid in the Editor, you can define the number of cells in each page, as well as spacing between them and margins on the edges of the page, so your hotspots are placed and spaced consistently by snapping to the gridlines.
How it works:
- Open the publication in the Editor
- Select the Snapping grid option in the lower left corner
- Define the number of rows and columns for the page
- Optionally, define the gutter for rows and columns, which provides spacing between created hotspot cells for consistent distance in your grid of hotspots
- Optionally, define the margins at the top, right, bottom and left side of the page, which helps maintain consistent design on all sides of the page.
- Create hotspots and place them in the grid, as now hotspots will snap to the grid when positioning or resizing for consistent dimensions and placement.
TIP: with one hotspot created exactly to the grid size, you can copy and paste new hotspots to save more time.
If you need a more free-form approach without a consistent grid but still need consistent spacing and sizing of content, you can create up to 16x16 gridlines across the page and use them to snap hotspots' positions and sizes for different layouts.
