      PDF Specifications & Recommendations

       

       


      Follow these PDF specifications to ensure your digital publication looks as good as the PDF you uploaded:

      File Details

      • Maximum PDF file-size of 300MB 
      • PDF is not "secured"
      • PDF is a .pdf file

      Page sizing

      • Pages cropped to size, no visible cutting lines (apply equal margins to CropBox and TrimBox)
      • Consistent page size & dimensions
      • If spreads are used, each page must be the same size

      Stretching Copy 2

      Images & Colours

      • Minimum resolution of 180 DPI (considering pages are at least A4 or Letter size)
      • RGB color encoding
      • No hidden layers (e.g. No old text layers with other objects placed above)
      • Avoid complex vector images, they can cause PDF conversion to fail

      Fonts

      • Embed all fonts in the PDF
      • Text should be intact & vector
      • No outlines or bitmaps. (You should be able to highlight & copy the text on the PDF file)
