You can use Photoshop to generate or edit your PDF files to use in Publitas. As Photoshop is designed to produce pixel or raster based images the PDFs generated will not contain a separate text layer.
This extra text is required to use features like the online publication's search option, SEO or the product detection feature (Gold and higher). If these features are important to you, we recommend using Adobe InDesign to design your pages and export PDF files.
Adobe offers different tools that deal with different parts of the design process. The most common used tools are:
- Adobe Photoshop for editing and creating photos or raster-based art. Its common output: Pixel or raster-based images
- Adobe Illustrator for creating vector-based graphics like icons, drawings and logos. Its common output: Vector images
- Adobe InDesign for creating books or documents, adding text and inserting images from the aforementioned tools. Its common output: PDF
- Adobe Acrobat for converting other formats to PDF and post-process PDFs (like signing or printing). Its common output: Converted or updated PDF
