In the hotspots editor you can also add images onto the pages (Silver and higher). Using GIF animations you can draw more attention to certain areas of the page or make sceneries come to life.
Just like a regular hotspot you can draw a rectangle for this element. The difference is that an Image Hotspot will not be clickable, instead, the rectangle frames the area the image will be fitted into.
The feature supports both static images as well as animated images (GIF). For static images you use the JPG, PNG or GIF format. The latter two will also allow you to apply a transparent background or opacity to your images.
How it works:
- Open the editor via Add hotspots.
- Select the Add an image option from the toolbox
on the left or use the shortcut I. - Draw the area where the image needs to be fitted
into. - Submit the image URL or upload your image to
Publitas.
TIPs:
To ensure your content loads instantly and reduce the weight of the content for mobile traffic we recommend to optimize the content for online use. Depending on the dimensions and the number of frames of the animated GIF it is best to keep the file size well below 500kb, preferably below 100kb if this is possible without impacting the image quality.
You can also use a stop-motion effect to reduce the number of frames required. This is particularly helpful if have a lengthy animation or if you want the animation to span an entire page.
