When a TSV feed fails to import into Publitas this is usually caused by one of the following reasons:
- Incorrect headers
- Descriptions include additional tabs
- Missing title and/or IDs
- Incorrectly formatted prices
- Values start with an invisible apostrophe
You can find the required headers here. A header can also be incorrect if it contains too many spaces.
Descriptions include additional tabs.
Some of the descriptions may include an additional tab which disrupts the required tab-sequence. You can identify this by loading the TSV in Excel (or Google Sheets), scroll down the list and look for rows where part of the content is shifted to the right.
Missing title and/or IDs
Usually, this does not trigger the import to fail, instead, these particular products won't be imported.
Incorrectly formatted prices
In case prices include a thousand separator, it can help to remove these and try again.
Values start with an invisible apostrophe.
When Excel is used to generate the TSV file it may have added these invisible apostrophes to cells that contain numbers. You can find the apostrophe by loading the TSV for example Google Sheets, selecting a price and look at the input field at the top.
